Simple question tough answer, I embed libnids in XS, what do I call it? Lib::nids?

  • Net::NIDS
    • Sounds good, apart from the N in NIDS already being Network. So either this or NIDS
    • Nope, Net::NetworkIntrustionDetectionSystem is double net.

      • That's such nonsense. Net:: is a hierarchy, NIDS is a noun. I think arguing redundancy is pointless pedanticism. A better name, though, is probably Net::LibNIDS by analogy with XML::LibXML.

        • Your opinion is noted, however I still think Net::NIDS or Net::LibNIDS are awkward names, just as I think XML::LibXML is an awkward name. Perhaps I should just name it Net::TCPReassembly
