Absolute value (verb)

[ #36777 ]

What's the verb for "taking the absolute value of," if there is such a word? I'm persnickety about getting my functions named right, and moreso because this one is mathematical. :)

  • I'm not sure whether there is a single-word verb for that. It's a noun (aka "modulus"), and normally it's called abs in programming, anyway.

What's the verb for "taking the square root of"? For "taking the sine of"?
