Is I am Legend, by Richard Matheson, as good a book as it seems?

As in, worth buying *today*?

  I read it a long time ago. If I remember correctly it was a pretty good read. I can say I have no negative imprints from it.

Its quite a good read but if you are working your way through the SF masterworks series I'd recommend the forever war [amazon.co.uk] as I found it a much better book.

"The Omega Man", with Charleton Heston, I think you will definitely like the book, as it is better, much better.
