I haven't heard either the Art of Fugue or the Angela Hewitt recording that you refer to. Perhaps I will be able to track them down.
One of my long-term ambitions is to be able to play the whole WTK well. As I don't have access to a piano at the moment, that's going to have to wait for a long while.

As for other recordings: If you're in the Bay Area I think the Berkeley public library (still) has the Hewitt. AoF is sort of strange, with about half played on an organ, so it's an acquired taste.
