«Although both [Corey Doctorow and Charles Stross] have been out of programming for a few years, it continues to influence--even infect--their thinking. In the Chequers, Doctorow mentions the original title for one of the novels he’s working on, a story about a spam filter that becomes artificially intelligent and tries to eat the universe. "I was thinking of calling it /usr/bin/god."

  • although I finally managed to give away the copy of 'down and out' after many failed attempts. My bookshelf is rid of the taint. When you can't even give the book away, it's sad. .../usr/bin/god though? That's so lame he should get extra-double negative points....and a boot to the head. Maybe he's to blame for Sterling's last absolute shit book. Doctorow is a complex terrorist plot to destroy any hope for decent sci-fi.
