use Perl

I love Fink. I ask for a program, it thinks for a bit, asks me a few questions about versions of supporting programs, asks me if I really want to install the 164 supporting programs and libraries, then starts along it's merry way. I check up on it every hour or so to see if any odd questions have popped up, or if any programs have failed in a spectacular fashion. And without any thought, work, or research on my part, I've got 2 new Perl installations, dozens of modules, GIMP, gnucash, emacs, ...

Yes, I know that Fink makes loving use of Debian's package manager, and I'm ready to buy a round for the Deb package team when they're at the next SPUG meeting. But I got to thinking about Perl 6 modules. Is CPANPLUS similar to what P6 will use? Will it be as easy (read: brainless) to install all of the XML/HTML/Template stuff in P6 as it was to tell Fink to give me the GIMP?

Has this been planned out? I can't find any useful mentions on the Perl 6 site. I'm assuming that module installation and management has been thought of, but what stage is it at? Is current work on CPANPLUS going to help P6?

BTW, "The King is a Fink" is a classic line from Wizard of Id.
