I am the proverbial "accidental" programmer. I have found that I really like Perl and programming so I am pursuing that route now. I am the Debian systems administrator and junior Perl programmer for a company called Inspire.

For some reason the "omnipotent bunny" ad always annoys me. The ad reads:

Well if that is true it would be an OMNISCIENT Rabbit. OMNIPOTENCE is about power. So it should really read:
This Omniscient Rabbit is Smarter Than You

Programming Perl
The last one came out in 2000, 7 years ago. I wonder if there are ephemeral thoughts in putting a new one out? Or if there are "others" that replace the need for it?
I cannot see Larry W. working on it since I am pretty sure that he is tied up with Perl6.

How I compiled Vim7 for OSX Tiger
I just did this to keep my Vim7 patched. I started out with the binary built at www.macvim.org.
Then I do this:
cd
svn co https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/vim/vim7
cd vim7/src
--enable-perlinterp \
--enable-pythoninterp \
--enable-tclinterp --with-tclsh=tclsh8.4 \
--enable-rubyinterp \
--enable-multibyte \
--enable-cscope \
--with-features=huge \
--with-compiledby=my.addy@something.com
make
make test
sudo make install (this will install Vim.app in
I then rename the original binary and copy the new one into
