more Ogre screenshots

Last night I finished wrapping (just uploaded, patience) enough of OGRE to be able to implement Basic Tutorial 3, which is on Terrain, Sky, and Fog. Although it's cooler when you can move around the "world" like in a 1st-person shooter game, here are a couple screenshots from that tutorial (in Perl!):

Ogre's Basic Tutorial 5 in Perl

Should be hitting CPAN soon, got Ogre's Basic Tutorial 5 implemented: tute5.pl .

I'm kind of amazed at myself at that, actually, was a lot of work. Hahah. It was good to take a week of vacation, and is fun to work on. Back to the grind, tomorrow....

Oh, it's fast, too:

C++ - Average FPS: 1274.08 Best FPS: 1349.65 Worst FPS: 999
Perl - Average FPS: 1233.08 Best FPS: 1345.65 Worst FPS: 999

Ogre screenshots

My last couple blogs, I mentioned that I'm wrapping Ogre and OIS C++ libraries. Here's a couple screenshots, to show how cool it is. :)

Those are screenshots from scripts in the examples directory.

OIS

Just uploaded wrappings for OIS. These are (in my mind) to use with OGRE. I want to add a couple more examples to OGRE, now that input handling is possible. In a couple days. :)

OGRE

I've been playing with OGRE recently. It's an "Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine" made in C++. The documentation and tutorials on the site are excellent.

As always, there are Python bindings and .NET bindings but not a Perl one. You'd almost think Perl was dying. So I started to change that with a minimal Perl binding. So far, it's not very useful (no input/event handling), but I was able to reproduce a basic tutorial after having stripped out the CEGUI and OIS parts.
