    The Summer 2006 issue of The Perl Review comes out June 1. Check your email for your renewal notice if you're at the end of your subscription!

    This issue is a special edition for YAPC::NA Chicago sponsored by LiveText (anyone need a job? They're hiring :), and featuring on the front cover a photo collage of the Chicago skyline created by Eric Maki and Daniel Allen using freely usable images from Flickr and GD. Too bad I can't show you pictures on use.Perl. It's really a wonderful cover, and after reading their article you'll be able to make your own.

    We finally uploaded video recordings in YAPC::Asia 2006 Tokyo to archive.org, tagged "yapc". Videocast feed (RSS 2.0) is also available so that you can use with iTunes to download video files adn sync them to video players like iPod.

    I'm pleased to announce the First Devon and Cornwall Perl Mongers Technical Meeting, on the 17th of May at The Waterfront, West Hoe, Plymouth, Devon. It should start about 7pm with Talks starting between 7:15 and 7:30.

    I'll be doing a couple of Talks on a new Scheduler, and Maypole, hopefully we'll have some talks from other local perl mongers and we'll have guests from Birmingham.pm on their world tour.

    chromatic writes: Rumor has it that this year's combined OSCON/TPC will be the tenth anniversary of The Perl Conference. O'Reilly would like to do something special to commemorate this event.
