I have just set up an email list for Class::CGI. If you're interested in using Class::CGI, have design discussions, wish to contribute patches, etc., then please sign up for the list. Development is ongoing and I look forward to having others have a role in the evolution of this module.
larsh writes "The midnight (00:01 UTC) of May 1st deadline for submissions
of talks to the Nordic Perl Workshop 2006 is approaching. The workshop will be held in Oslo, Norway, on the 15th and 16th
of June, 2006.
The main topic of this year's workshop is
"Managing Complexity."
jmcada writes "We've just released the YAPC::NA 2006 schedule on the conference website. This year there will be four rooms of talks going on for the three days of the conference. We are lucky enough to have both Larry Wall and Damian Conway giving keynote addresses. Of course, there will be a lot of Perl 6, Pugs, and Parrot talks, was well as the usual barrage of Perl 5 goodness.
Some other items of interest that aren't on the schedule include a Perl 6 hack-a-thon immediately following the conference, as well as, open classes taught by Damian Conway, brian d foy, and Randal Schwartz. You can find out more at the YAPC Chicago website.
markov writes "The third Dutch Perl Workshop will take place on May 17th. The progam for the day has just been released. Amongst many dutch speakers, Leopold Tötsch will inform us about the latest Parrot developments.
Although the main conference language is Dutch, the meeting may still be nice to attent for visitors of
SANE 2006
(Europe's version of USENIX) or the Free Software Bazaar which happen at the same day in the same building."
Allison writes "Part of the Perl 6 RFC process in 2000 identified the need to update the
Artistic License (RFCs 211 and 346). From 2000-2001, a group of interested Perl users on the perl6-licenses mailing list worked on a first draft of an updated Artistic License. In 2003, The Perl Foundation started an extensive review process with independent legal counsel and with a representative sample of companies and organizations who use and distribute Perl. We're starting the final stage now: a public review open to all.
The goal of the license update is to preserve Larry Wall's original intent, while making the meaning clearer both to lawyers and to users. We've also added a Contributor License Agreement to document the relationship between contributors, users, and TPF. You'll find the latest drafts of the Artistic 2.0 and the Contributor License Agreement in the legal section of the TPF website.
If you have any questions or comments, or just want to follow the conversation, please subscribe to the mailing list by sending a message to artistic2-subscribe {at} perl {dot} org.
After 5 years of work, we're excited to reach this point. Thanks to everyone who contributed along the way!"
Once again, Apress will be giving away promotional copies of the book featured in a Perlcast
interview. To be entered in the drawing for one of five copies of Micro ISV, just send an
email to perlcast+isv [at] gmail.com. Get you're email to me by April 24th 2006 to be entered in the drawing."
brian_d_foy writes "For what it's worth, the 2006 OSCON Perl track schedule is available. I think the theme is "Time Travel" because I swear that looks a collection of talks from a conference that could have happened five years ago. :)"

"So we've sorted the dates, we have a venue, and we need some speakers for the 2006 YAPC::Europe Perl Conference in Birmingham, UK, August 30 - September 1, 2006. The proposal submission deadline is Friday, June 2, 2006. Papers and slides are due Friday, July 21, 2006. The theme for this year's conference is 'The Accessibility of Perl,' which we hope will inspire submissions for this and related topics. If Perl has helped you or your company in enabling access, whether that is in terms of website accessibility and applications or even education and services, we'd like to hear about it. Although this is our main topic for the conference, it will not be the only one, and as such we will also be accepting talks on topics on just about any theme."
