I just got the GoGear for christmas. It's a neat little player but I too would like to avoid wmp10

These are my observations in attempting to circumvent this. Mind you, I am no programmer. I'm assuming you've messed with this yourself, but I thought I might have something helpful for you, so here it is.

You can manually open up this device from my computer. With the music I've just made folders and dropped them in the music directory. I tried to simulate what it seemed the player was doing. I made a folder for each artist, then a subfolder for each album. Sticking a picture in the album folder if there was one.

If you have the tags set up on all of your mp3's then it recognises that and you can search by artist, album, whatever. But since I can't edit files on the player it's self, I'm going to have to take the music off the player then edit it.

Interesting note, if you drop pictures into the pictures folder, the player doesn't recognise them, so I had to use wmp for that.

so basicly I need a way to make playlists.

I could really benifit from this program you are working on, and many others could as well, I imagine.

if you could keep me updated I would appreciate it. improvlife @ gmail.com is my address

I hope my exploration was a help. Either way I'll be checking your journal for updates

    thanks.
