  • I saw an exhibit of Prokudin-Gorskii's photos on display in the lobbby of Library of Congress back in probably 1987. They're even more amazing in person. It's not just that they're color photos a generation older than any you've ever seen (though of course with the subject matter many appear to be much older than that), but they're also quite good quality considering his primative tools.
  • I've seen these before, on the web -- wish I could see them in person some time.

    Does anyone else get the weird sensation that these are modern actors, dressed-up? This is from before they invented color!
