  • What is a "calendar" in this context, and how does a "strike" affect it?

    • In this context a calendar is what describes some sucession of things, as in any other context. :-)

      I'm sorry, but these are mainly academic things --- and I don't know if it's the same in every place...

      For example, we're finishing our 2002 school year now. 2003 will begin in April 22nd (21st is a holiday). The calendar describes when the school year starts, when it ends, when the first semester starts (for courses where it applies), when it ends, when the second semester starts, etc. It also defines when
