  • There's no-one for Microsoft to do a deal with. Zend is the corporate face of PHP & if Perl had a similar company involved (Activestate doesn't count) then a similar deal could be done.

    Whether that would be a good idea is left as an exercise for the reader !

    • Does it have to be corporate? How about the Perl Foundation?
      • How much does the Perl Foundation spend on marketing ?

        That's what this deal is really about I reckon, it's a marketing ploy to make Windows more attractive for web serving.

    • Microsoft did [] do a deal with Activestate with regards to Perl on Windows way back in 1999.
