The mascot may have been a fox in the past, but has to change after some period of time to keep peoples attention. And a big fat animated hippo likely has the necessary blend of amusing, cute, and non-threatening characteristics that the marketroids so need to reach the vast (intellectually-)unwashed masses.
Would you believe that I'm married to a Marketting Analyst, and have had to tone down my anti-marketing rant substantially? {grin}
