fedora has worked nicer for me (Score:2)
So far the only problem has been touch-to-click behaving oddly but adding a line to grub.conf fixed that and I can probably remove the acpi=off from grub now and get proper power control back on.
oh yes sorry - annoying things about ubuntu were debian naming of packages, perl stuff not installing except via packages which defeats the point of using CPAN, and no gcc installed as default.
