  Funny you should talk about how extraordinarily likeable Perlfolk as a group; if we were to explain why, then one of the most common reasons would be "people like gnat".

  Seriously.

  Perl is about having fun, and you're nothing if not a fun (albeit occasionally serious) dude. Thinking back to the C++ and Lisp folks I've met over the years, they're generally not fun, nor are they into promoting the idea of "Less Work, More Porn!". :-)

    There are so many ways in which Nat represents the very best our community (and Perl itself!) can be: He's witty, literate, eloquent, generous, hard-working, reliable, thoughtful, community-minded, passionate, self-effacing, non-traditional, occasionally silly and always clever. He's willing to take on tough jobs, and he gets them done quickly and without theatrics.
    
    Hmmmm. I'm not sure about Pudge's description of him as sexy [frii.com], but he was excellent in that movie Gattaca [frii.com].

      How the hell did you find that picture?! That was another life and before the surgery :-). When I told her you linked to that photo, Jenine said, "you know what you have to do, don't you? Call his wife." You owe me for not taking her advice, oh yes. Wives and mothers stockpile photos of us at our stupidest. Only the foolish like me put those photos on the net. Apparently you're not foolish.
