  • Your feature request is being ignored over there => http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1772335&group_id=4421&a tid=104421 [sourceforge.net] Perhaps you could hasten the process by contributing a patch?

I hate filing bug reports or upgrade requests

That's a dangerous sentiment to express.

"Over there" I see what appears to be a very closely related bug/feature request about search results. I imagine in well-written source code, both could be fixed at the same time. I use the term "feature" in the classic MicroSoft manner- as you say, it is not a bug, so I guess to you changing this would provide an alternative feature to the present code. Although what you point to is labelled "Tracker: Bugs".

I note the author of that entry makes an even better suggestion, of adding the post author's name, and the posting source, to the title information, after the most useful information of the subject of the post.

Why don't I post a patch? Have you ever read "slashcode" to try and patch it? When "sigzero" says "Whew!", I tend not to try to understand the code and find where the present feature is implemented.

Lucky for me this bug has been posted since 2007. And assigned to Chris Nandor. I am sure he is hard on the case of this "feature".

Why do you say it is dangerous to express my sentiment? Might that delay the addition of new features? Won't my journal entries be evaluated on their merits, and not lead to some kind of character assassination?

      Cheerio! Enjoy your journal.
