  • I work at a unix startup, and I spend my time writing perl scripts. Thing is, I've got to use a Windows box to telnet to various servers. I'd love to try using Linux as my main desktop machine, but all I can get is a lousy 150 mhz SGI O2 that barely runs Netscape.

    • I wouldn't dare run linux as my desktop (still some important toys that don't run yet), cause it's tooo friggin' slow (with an athlon xp 2100+ even). Right now, it just cannot beat the performance I get out of Win2000. (don't talk to me about "performance tuning", it's gotta run perfect out the box, and all my toys gotta play)
