  • The difference between a programmer and an SA is that the SA will not run something if they don't know what it does...whereas the programmer will  :) Sun should really remove sys-unconfig...it's a totally stupid yet very dangerous command.

    • Yes, I was quite surprised it didn't prompt (though this was Linux, so maybe Solaris does the sensible thing and asks: "Are you sure you want to fuck your system this way?").

      Ah well, looking at the source it just touches  /.unconfigured, so if I boot with a rescue disk and remove that when I get home it should be fine.

      OK, next time make me read the fine manual. And get more sleep.
