Now I can sound like an old timer! "Yeah, I remember back in the day when I could read every use Perl; journal and every post. In an hour!"
Personally, I find myself wishing the rest of the Internet worked like slash. I'd like to see everything modded up and down so I'd know what's worth reading, and have the ability to make comments and receive feedback on my comments in the form of moderations and replies.
