  • I used to use MozEx but now use ViewSourceWith [], which, perhaps not obviously, can be used for text areas as well as viewing source.

    I can't remember exactly why I switched, but if you find MozEx hassle it may be that ViewSourceWith happens to work better for you. After saving content in Vim clicking in the text area is sufficient to update it.

    • Myself, I used to use ViewSourceWith, but now use It's All Text! []. :-)

      • Have to say that after testing both, I like ViewSourceWith better than It’s All Text!, despite never intending to use it for anything besides editing textareas in an external editor. To each his own, of course.

        • Yup, at the end it's all a matter of taste. VSW has definitively more features than IAT, and would appeal more to me if I wanted something for web development. But for my casual textarea filling needs, IAT and its cute little 'edit' bubble just hit the spot.

          Of course, if we want to start a real flamew^D^D^D^D^D^D debate, we should now ask: "which editor to use in conjecture with the plugin? vi, or emacs?" ;-)
