  • Actually... I quite liked the menu on my previous phone, Motorola V500. The default is 4 large animated icons, which sucks, but luckily you could turn that off and have a simple list of apps. The best thing about it was that you could assign not just apps (Email, Calculator) but pretty much any native menu item (Check battery level, Send text message) to a 2-digit shortcut.

    And while I'm ranting, I actually like Motorola's T9 implementation as well: it displays a full word once it has enough characters, s



  • Wasn't there a recent post about some new nokia that had a 4gig microdrive, music player, etc etc? So if not Cocoa, you might at least fit Perl and a substantive portion of CPAN on it :)

    On the downside, it has a moving part. I've had nothing but trouble with phones with moving parts. They are inevitably just not rugged enough.

    It lasts a year ok, but not 3-5 (which is what I generally want a phone to last) :)
