Indicators (Score:2)
Next to a person's name there is an indicator of the status of their relationship with you. On use Perl; this indicator is a smiley face; on slashdot this indicator is a colored gelatin-like dot. Click the indicator, and you can make someone your friend (making yourself their fan) or make them your foe (making yourself their freak).
Be sure to cultivate the habit of clicking everywhere to see what things do. You'll learn a lot this way.

Annoyingly, when I press any of the links on "Curious what these icons mean [perl.org] or where you change their values? [perl.org], I get a "File not found" error :(
Is this normal?
