Looking over the comments on /. reminds me why I rarely visit the site and why newsforge [newsforge.com] is so good. It seems that most people who write comments there are either trolls or idiots (or both :)).
On a side note, CGI isn't dead. I write CGI scripts all the time, the fact that I run them under mod_perl and Apache::Registry is insignificant :)
