"Plural of noun" can often be simplified to "Noun plural". It works pretty well in this case: "SARS Rumors Spreading by SMS".

  Yes, but "Rumors spreading by SMS" is hardly news. :-)
  The bad grammar certainly got a lot more clickthroughs than a proper headline would.
