There's always going to be someone who hates your work, no matter how good it is.
For example, "Object Oriented Perl" is generally held to be a pretty good book [amazon.com], but it also received this review [amazon.com]. Likewise, "Perl Best Practices" was getting straight A's [amazon.com] from reviewers until this person chimed in [amazon.com].

If the guy says "I've been doing this stuff for 10 years and this tutorial book didn't teach me anything". It doesn't sound like sour grapes that he didn't get to write it, it sounds like he's worried that he's now replaceable since you've published all his secrets. Laugh!
