  • What did you think of the car? Although we just bought [cwinters.com] a well-used Honda we'll probably be in the market for another car in a couple of years. Reading anecdotes on Edmunds [edmunds.com] VWs seem to have gotten a lot better (more reliable) in the last five years or so and I'm curious if you liked it.
    • Well, I don't think I'll be buying a VW again, if that answers your question. It is a fun car, in that it's a Turbo and got some umph, but I've had quite a few reliability issues (it's left me stranded about 4 times), mixed in with an inept dealer/service dept.

      Makes me look fondly back in the days of my Saturn. Stick w/ your Honda (and other Honda cars) - my wife is STILL driving her Civic that she bought back in '97 and it's still going strong. I also had a good experience with Saturn. From my (limited) worldview, car reliability is strong with Honda, Toyota and Saturn.
