  Hi Tony, As a cdbi user and writer/maintainer of a bunch of CDBI related/using packages I have to say this whole thing has me worried. If you are planning to resolve the worst issues and that things should blow over soon that would be good news. If you are creating new problems, then that would be bad news. From everything I've seen (mostly because of your near-silence on the issues) I fear it is more the latter than the former. I'm afraid that a dignified silence hasn't helped matters at all, which is

  Personally, I've got one issue, and if you'd like to clear it up, that'd be great, but if not, that's your prerogative. Certain people are saying that you threatened to sue use Perl because of certain things that were said on it.

  Now that's entirely inappropriate, because use Perl does not exert any control over the content created by its users. I don't know if there have been any submissions on the subject, but you will note that not a single front page article about the tussle has occured. You should

  So, for now at least, it looks like everyone will just have to choose whether or not to believe the gossip. And I'll just have to continue to be surprised at some of the people who do.

  If you choose not to say anything, people will gravitate towards believing the "gossip". That is human nature. So you shouldn't be surprised by anything that is said or written on the subject if you choose not to present your side and/or make a statement on the current circumstances.
