The Neanderthal Parallax (Score:2)
Though I suspect you're kidding, there's an interesting series by Robert J. Sawyer named "The Neanderthal Parallax". Basically, in an alternate universe, homo neanderthalis survived while homo sapiens sapiens went extinct. Naturally, a gateway between their universe and ours is discovered and in book 1, a Neanderthal named Ponter is trapped over here. In a similar light to Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land", one could almost view it as a fictionalized anthropological survey of humankind. Sawyer foc
