  • Thanks Dorward for pointer on mp3, I'm almost surprised that Linux can viably distribute without the support bundled in... still, looks like it should be easy enough to get it set up.

    I'm also having trouble parsing "Currently there is no legal way to play DVD's on Linux using free packages in most countries." Right now, I think it means that you have to use proprietary packages to do it, rather than that it's illegal...

    In related news, I closed the laptop lid expecting it to sleep, but opened it later to find it had completely powered down. Apparently ubuntu is fairly good on this, so hoping that in a real installation this should be tweakable.
