  • I'm curious how long a time frame people forsee for Perl 6. I know that any such schedule is probably totally optimistic and guesswork, but it'd be nice to have some idea what the people in the know forsee. When might the Larry's specs be done? When might we start to see early implementations of those specs? When might a release candidate come out? This would be an even more fun process if everybody jotted down their own answers without consulting the others.
    • Larry intends to produce "one Apocalypse for each Chapter [of the camel3]". The average time between Apocalypses has been 3 or 4 months. Let's be kind and cut the length of the Camel from 33 chapters to 20 chapters. Extrapolating that out and you get a finished design somewhere between 2006 and 2008.

      Then we just have to write the parser, and we're all done!
