Pre-site prefs (Score:1)

Firefox is slowly gaining per-site prefs. Supposedly, future versions will get major support here.

As for the present, two extensions that help in this area are Greasemonkey (per-site javascript) and Stylish (per-site CSS). Both require the user to be rather technical, however.
