IMO, if you aren't a programmer, you shouldn't be allowed to touch UML. Otherwise you end up with wall-sized diagrams that look really nice to manager types, and are utterly impossible to implement in practice.
Maybe UML works better in an XP environment.
Also, I could have sworn there used to be a Solaris version of Rational Rose - back when it first came out. I know there's a Solaris version of Rational ClearCase.
I'm probably remembering incorrectly.
