    WiFi is great, but at the end of the day, cable is cheap, reliable, faster and considerably more secure. Plus if you are doing anything for any extended period you'll need mains power anyway.

    The only problem with cable is routing it round your house, it's expensive to do properly, and spouses don't seem to like CAT-5 trailing all over the place if you do it on the cheap! WiFi is good when you want an ad hoc solution, but it's somewhat over-hyped for most other uses.

    When I win my millions on the Premium Bonds I'll have a house with CAT-6 everywhere... Plus probably a WiFi network too.
