Canadian movers are absolutely the most wonderful movers to deal with. I had a really bad experience moving to Canada, and had to pull hen's teeth just to get *one* company to come and give me a quote. (They wound up overcharging me a good deal, but that's all legit according to US Law.)

The US company packed everything up, and moved it into a warehouse about 3 miles away from my apartment. A Canadian crew picked it up and drove it the remaining 3,000 miles to my new apartment in Canada. The movers themselves were about as pleasant as the ones you described.

When I moved back to the states, the Canadian company was very prompt, courteous, friendly, accomodating, and didn't overcharge me. That crew also packed my stuff and moved it into a warehouse, where another Canadian crew drove it 3000 miles across North America (again), and all of them were just a joy to deal with.

If we ever have occasion to move >50 miles away, I can assure you that we'll do our best to send the work to a Canadian crew.
