I version my modules 0.01, 0.02 and so forth until I think they're ready for production use. Then I add 1 to the version number. This way, DBIx::Simple went from 0.10 to 1.11.

And all of a sudden, the module got users. (I can tell by the amount of email I get :) Apparently many are indeed afraid to use 0.0x releases.
