  • you're not a proper geek!

You left out: The Matrix (nr. 1 of course), The 5th Element, Blade Runner - and probably several other geek-must-see's that I haven't mentioned (and will be chastised for not remembering).

    • Well actually, one that I left out, not on purpose (but I added now) is Fight Club. I have both the Fifth Element and The Matrix on DVD but they dont give me that je ne sais quoi feeling afterwards so I didn't add them. I never claimed I was a proper geek.. or that I was a geek to begin with :D
      • Apart from Leon and Dead poets society, which I didn't like, I mostly share your impressions... but what would be interesting (as an experiment) is a list of popula movies -- like 5th element -- that you wouldn't post on a XX-top list, but only in a good-enough list. Mine, for example, contains Star Wars (IV through VI, I haven't seen the new ones.)
        • I have the Fifth Element on DVD. It has a solid cast and the Sci-Fi level is pretty high but it tries too hard to be a good movie, the story is solid at some points and extremly weak at other points. It's still a good movie but not good enough to be a favorite. I wouldn't stay home for that one if it was on TV... I would for any other ones on my list.
