    Beamer allows you to produce really beautiful presentations relatively easily. Others might point to powerdot and friends, but my vote's with beamer. (For what it's worth, Till Tantau's pgf and TikZ packages, which are required for beamer, are also great pieces of work.)

    • Ditto. I've gone through 2-3 other slide packages, and Beamer's by far the best of them. The installation was a bit of a pain, and there is some non-TeX-like syntactic weirdness, but it's worth the trouble.
