    • WinAmp [winamp.com] is still around but it's not open source.
    • VLC media player [videolan.org] (GNU GPL) runs on a multitude of platforms including the many flavors of Windows.
    • Media Player Classic [sourceforge.net] (GNU GPL) runs on most flavors of Windows.

    I'm sure there are more but these are ones that I'm aware of. I prefer WinAmp for music and VLC for videos. *shrug*
