there's the issues, the kind that inevitably exist in projects at this early stage (both Parrot and Rakudo)

  Yes, like UNIX in 1975, Perl in 1993, Python in 1997, or Ruby in 2001.
  The fact that 6 years is old for a video game, application framework, or lolmeme doesn't mean that it's old for everything having to do with computers.
