  • there's the issues, the kind that inevitably exist in projects at this early stage (both Parrot and Rakudo)

Parrot, which is more than 6 years old [], is in an early stage?

    • People more intimately familiar with Parrot can probably answer this better than I can, but...

I heartily accept that "early stage" is a somewhat strange term to use for both Rakudo and Parrot, since the former is much younger than the latter. Perhaps better to say that neither is really mature yet. I know some things in Rakudo are awaiting feature additions in Parrot, which gives me as a non-Parrot expert the sense that Parrot is still under construction. Also, some of the more awful errors one encounters when playing with Perl 6 are clearly attributable to the Parrot platform, not to Rakudo. It was this that I sought to express in the article when saying that Parrot is in an "early stage".
