  • If Topaz will be successfull, it shouldn't break any documented behavior. If it breaks any hacks and exploits, or if it breaks deprecated stuff so be it...

    If you are antecipating serious compatibility problems, perhaps there could be a tool to scan a Perl 5 program and flag potential problems.

    One of the things you are up against is, Perl 5 is very good. If Topaz breaks things, people won't have a very compelling reason to use it.
