Poor software deployment isn't its creator's fault (Score:1)
What makes you think the bug tracker creators have better ways to contact a bug tracker user project than you?
Yes, that is definitely too much to ask.
Right there with you on the rest of your complaints, though.
I’m just bringing this up because this sort of misunderstanding creates a huge timesink for the creators of widely deployed software (with sometimes humorous (if embarrassing) results [centos.org], even).

The bug passing between bug systems is really a pipe dream. Realistically, I realize it's not feasible in most cases. But wouldn't it be nice if you could say "not my bug - it belongs to this other module or program" and then the bug listing magically appears in that other program's bug tracker?
Too much opportunity for abuse, probably. But it would save me the trouble of reentering the same bug in another sys
