Try it in cygwin (Score:1)
Try it in Cygwin. I'm finding a lot more is working in Cygwin since 5.8.0 than ever before.
I just love having all (most of) the Rich Functionality of Unix in the W2K environment that my employer requires that I use. This includes a Real Perl with a working CPAN and 'make test/install', etc.
This is no knock on Activestate. They've done a great job. At this point, the only Perl I have running on Windows in production environments runs under Activestate, but Cygwin-perl (and Cygwin in general) is making great strides.
