I expect that the gravatars are cached at search.cpan.org for maybe a day or so, so if you just wait for about 24 hours, it should update automatically.

That's what I read into the last answer in search.cpan.org's FAQ [cpan.org], too.

  No luck so far. I think it may be something other than a cache refresh that is needed.

    I'm having a related problem that has not gone away with time. Originally my gravitar showed up (I too was an early adopter of the niftiness) but now nothing shows up. I'm faceless!

      I emailed Schwern yesterday and consulted his wisdom. It turns out that the gravatar needs to be associated with your cpan.org email address, ala 'phred at cpan.org', or in your case 'wonko at cpan.org'. I logged into PAUSE, made the necessary changes to have my cpan address forward, and voila! Gravatar is back in action.
