You could track down the Logitech / Slim Devices people and ask them if they have any particular lessons they learned packaging the Squeezebox server. andyg and blblack are involved, that I know of.

  I'm not sure they use PAR for creating their executables. I think they use something else. They *do* use PAR for their plugin system. Remember because I was lobbying for that :)

Not worth much note, but I packaged up my SDL Phoenix bus route visualizer app for download using PAR. PAR would be great for distributing Tk style apps to the desktop in an enterprise style situation but I've never had the chance. It's always been Web for me... not to derail things here. Things like MovableType should offer PAR downloads. I've written about this before, but Perl badly needs pervasive download-and-run.
