MacPerl is not quite dead ... in fact, I plan on releasing a MacPerl 5.8.1, and I just wanted to note that we should make sure all the changes from maint-5.6/macperl are in maint-5.6/perl and vice versa. Ignore the macos/ subdirectory entirely.

The MacPerl 5.6.1 release is already closer to what 5.6.2 will be than what 5.6.1 was, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

We should chat via email or somesuch if you have any questions ... and congrats!
    • MacPerl 5.8.1 : new perl, old OS. Perl 5.6.2 : old perl, new OSes.

FWIW I don't work in maint-5.6/perl but in maint-5.6/perl-5.6.2, a branch created from perl 5.6.1. After 5.6.2 is released I'll integrate the changes made here into maint-5.6/perl. At this point I'll check what's in maint-5.6/macperl. So eventually we'll have a 5.6.3 containing all fixes you and Sarathy already commmitted. If you want any specific changes to be in perl 5.6.2, mail me.
