The Berlin Wall fell in 1989, not 1988 as the obit states. Apart from that, it's spot on. :-)

  Well, Reagan wasn't president in 1989, so if it fell in 1989 he couldn't have been the one to knock it down. Obviously your memory is what's inaccurate. Wait, maybe it was during the first 20 days of 1989, just before the inauguration of Bush the Elder. That could work. We have always been at war with East Asia.
