  • I had a bit of a battle with email as it didn't want to connect to localhost but 127.0.0.1 worked fine.

    OK, first off: I admit I don't have MacOS-X. I do have experience with oldfashioned Mac-OS though...

    And that one makes use of a "hosts" file. The syntax is slightly different form the one on Unix/Linux/*BSD/Windows, and you have to "import" it via a button in the TCP/IP control panel. But the actual concept is pretty much the same.

    Now, as I expect OS-X to behave somewhere in between oldfashioned MacO
